Do you want to be part of how change happens? Are you passionate about affordable homes and ending homelessness and willing to speak up about it?

SCANPH would like to invite our members' and all housing advocates to attend our "How to Get the Most out of In-Person Meetings with Public Officials and Staff" training.

There are times when all of us will need to convey critical policy messages to decision makers. In order to make all of our members and advocates comfortable and effective in this process, this training will teach you how to effectively communicate policy messages and get more results from your meetings with both elected and appointed public officials.

This workshop will focus on the initial approach with the elected official or staff member and how to seat oneself – literally and metaphorically – at the table with key decision making staff. Topics will include:

• The role of “meetings” in influencing decisions and building relationships

• How to make your meetings with officials more strategically significant

• “Before,” “during” and “after” phases of maximizing impact of your meetings with government officials and staff

• Maintaining and sustaining the value of meetings with public officials and staff
